– Amit Lekh
Patna/Raipur. Chhattisgarh Kisan Sabha, affiliated to the All India Kisan Sabha, has strongly condemned the brutal attack on the Delhi Chalo March of some farmer organization.
To stop the farmers March towards Delhi, Modi government deploy the army on Shambhu border, lathi -charged, rubber bullets, leaving tear gas shells and collective arrests. Against this brutal action, Kisan sabha called on protests in villages on 16 February. On this day, nationwide rural shutdown and industrial strike have also been called by the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha and the United Forum of Trade Unions. In a statement issued here today, Sanjay Parate, convenor of Chhattisgarh Kisan Sabha, has said that demonstration on Parliament on his demands is the democratic right of every citizen and organization. It is the responsibility of the government to solve the burning issues of citizens and communities and make concrete solutions to protect their livelihood. The suppression on this right of the people by any government cannot be accepted. The Kisan Sabha leader has alleged that instead of negotiating, the Modi government is treating the farmers of the country like enemies. This is proof of this to drop tear gas shells through drones. This government is notorious for its jumlas and the voilation of promise is in its character. In the 2014 elections, Prime Minister Modi promised that he would give a support price of one and a half times the C2 cost to the farmers, last year he had made a written agreement with the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha on the same issue, but he dose not fulfilled his promises and agreement till date. Due to this, the Modi government has lost the trust of the people. The Kisan Sabha has called for village level demonstrations against this huge repression on the peasant movement and the Modi government’s anti -farmer and pro-corporate policies on 16 February to make the rural bandh successful and organize protests in the village village. Samyukta Kisan Morcha has also appealed for broad unity against the anti-farmer, pro-corporate policies of the Modi government and this barbaric repression on the farmers’ movement.
